Bríd-Áine Parnell
In her PhD, Bríd-Áine is investigating digital identity and examining the social impacts of name misrepresentation on culture and identity within a context of data colonialism, linguistic imperialism and techno-solutionism. She sees technology as a multi-layered infrastructure, where errors embedded in these foundational data systems may impact on NLP-enabled applications at the cutting edge, including potential misalignment of personal data, and representational and cultural bias.
