Iñaki Goñi

Iñaki's current work centres on the relationship between democracy and technology. His PhD is on the design of public dialogue around novel technologies, and he also works on the use of digital technologies in participatory processes and government.

Iñaki’s research asserts that we should regard dialogue as a public technology, one that shapes who the rightful publics are, the framing of technoscience as a public concern and defines the publicly-spirited ways in which we should discuss it. Through a comparative case study and a critical interpretive review of the literature, Iñaki explores the different designs of dialogue and their frictions, the implication of design principles for the work of organisers and the deeper historical frames of design work.
