Joe Noteboom
Joe’s PhD research project, ‘The University of Data: Ethical and Social Futures of Data-Driven Education,’ was co-supervised in the School of Social and Political Science and the Moray House School of Education and Sport. His PhD research investigated students’ experiences of datafication in UK higher education. He used qualitative and creative methods to explore how students’ everyday experiences using data-driven platforms intersects with their experiences of university, and asked how universities could better support students’ agency with respect to datafication by adopting forms of participatory data governance.
